On SHIMANO's Homepage we can see the video to introduce how to care Bait Casting reels. This way of maintenance is just a basic and for the case of using fresh water. But it must be necessary especially for beginners of Bait Casting users.

< How to keep the reel >
◎ Take out from the rod
◎ Loose the drag
◎ Leave in the shadow and where has wind
< How to keep the reel when get wet >
◎ Dry up by towel and keep out the water.
◎ Leave in the shadow and where has wind
< How to keep the reel when drop in the water >
◎ Leave the cap of Mechanical brake and take out the spool.
◎ Leave in the shadow and where has wind until dry.
◎ After dry up id there is something wrong in reel, it is better to send the maker for overhaul.
< Reel Cleaning >
◎ Clean up the body by dry towel.
◎ Clean up the area of Level-Winder and Spool by cotton bud.
◎ Open the Side-Plate and take out the spool for cleaning by towel.
◎ Clean up the inside of Side-Plate.
< Pouring oil and grease >
◎ Take out the cap of Mechanical Brake. And spray the oil t ball bearing inside.
◎ Spray the oil to ball bearing in the Side -Plate.
◎ Spray the grease to a cotton bud and add to Worm shaft and outside of Mechanical Brake.
◎ Take out the unnecessary grease from the area by paper towel.
◎ Pour the small drop of oil to Brake Pipe of Side Plate then spread out that oil by a cotton bud.
◎ Pour the small drop of oil to Spool Shaft then set up the reel.
◎ Adding oil to reel one time for 5 times fishing or one time for one month.
< SVS Brake Maintenance >
◎ Open the Side-Plate and clean up the Brake-Pipe by paper towel.
◎ Pour the oil to inside of Brake-Pipe and spread by a cotton bud.
◎ Set the Si-de=plate again.
< DC Brake Unit maintenance >
◎ Open the Side-Plate and take out DC Unit.
◎ Clean up the area f Sensor of DC Unit then set up again.
< Line setting for Bait Casting reel >
◎ After connecting the line to spool put tape on it when we use PE Line.
◎ Correct volume of line is 1mm inside from out edge of spool.
