FEEDBACK FROM FISHING SHOW 2015 – NO.4: HIGH GEAR MODEL OF CALCUTTA CONQUEST

One of most popular Bait-Casting reel in Vietnam, SHIMANO Calcutta Conquest adds new model in 2015. On size the maker adds 300 & 400 series for big game anglers. And also they add High-Gear model for 100 & 200 series.

On High Gear model Gear Ratio becomes 6.8 from 5.2 in 100series, 6.2 from 4.8 in 200 series. We can retrieve 77cm in new model (Normal 59cm) in 100series, 78cm (Normal 60cm) in 200series. The price is complete same as normal gear model. On looking the cap of handle knob and the cap of "cast control” is added black color. And the weight increases a little bit from normal gear model. That is all.

In Vietnam High Gear model is not popular. But In Japan it is said that the week point of Calcutta Conquest is Low Gear. Japanese anglers think “High speed car can drive in low speed but Low speed cannot drive in high speed”. How Vietnamese anglers feel High Gear model of this popular reel?
