LEFT? RIGHT? FOR BAIT - CASTING REEL NO.4 (THE END)

Though 80% of top lure anglers in Japan uses right-handle for Bait-casting, most of them choose left handle when use Spinning reel.

So what is the difference between Spinning and Bait-casting reel? Why anglers use Bait-casting reel though troubles like Backlash is unavoidable? To compare with spinning reel, Bai-casting reel can do more sensitive fishing

In 1990's left-handle bait-casting reels have started to spread in JP after the best tournament angler IMAE KATSUTAK’s proposal, which anglers should choose the handle up to what kind of lure anglers use.

And then left-handle had gradually spread widely and now some anglers including professional are using left-handle in any situation.

As I wrote on previous column, in JP most of top anglers are using right-handle for bait-casting reel.

I do not say Japanese way is always correct. But I just want to explain why Japanese anglers like right handle.

The first surprise in Vietnam about fishing for me is that why most of all anglers are using left handle for bait-casting reel.

In Japan most of top anglers are using right handle model like list below.

We had a chance to guide one Japanese angler for Barramundi fishing in South Vietnam. Mr. K is 48 years old. and has a lot of experienced to travel many countries for fishing, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and some countries in Africa. But it was his first visit to Vietnam.

2 years ago a heavy rain brought energy to fishes and I could caught more than 20 giant snakehead 2 - 5.5kg. Last year accompanied Vietnamese Mr. Hanh could catch 10kg and 60cm of Mahseer for me. This lake and given us the luck fishing but in this year watching a natural elephant become the best memory here.

Maybe because of the influence from “flood”, fishes in the lake was not effervescent. There are 3 ways to fish a Giant Snakehead.

As an annual event for me, I visited a lake near the border between Thailand and Malaysia. This is my 7th visit there. I often visited in September but this time delayed to in the end of October, when is the almost finishing time of best season.

Of course every angler has their own favorite type. But if someone ask me to recommend one DC model from present series, I will pick up EXSENCE DC which is the latest model of series.
