Maybe because of the influence from “flood”, fishes in the lake was not effervescent. There are 3 ways to fish a Giant Snakehead.

(1) Casting Top Water lures to the water edge as many as you can like shooting “a machine-gun”.

(2) Casting Deep Diving Minnows when a Snake Head fish comes up to the surface of water for taking a breath.

(3) Casting lures to “ a baby ball ” which is made by thousands of baby Giant Snake Head, to catch their mother or father which stays near ”Baby Ball”. We tried all but every efforts were in vain.

Then we increased the target to a kind of Mahseer and Hampala Barb but only small size of those enjoyed with us.

After 3 nights and 4 days fishing only 4 kg’s Giant Snake Head for me and a Splendid Snake Head for my friend were the ones we could be proud. Sometimes we have rain, sometimes clear - this kind of weather is usually good for Giant Snake Head fishing. Our fishing guide SHIGE has been guided guests to this lake in this 7 or 8 years but this time was the worst No. 2 among his guide fishing to here.

Now is the almost the end of high season so the pressure from anglers might be the peak to fishes. People who visit this lake has increased year by year nevertheless here is located in the deep inside of jungle. This time we met several anglers despite week day’s staying. Some came from Malaysia, some came from Europe, and we came from Japan and Vietnam.
