"OTHER DC MODELS FOR VIETNAMESE FIELD”
◎ SCORPION DC/DC 7 series.
It is the cheapest DC reels of SHIMANO but this model also is "made in Japan".
Though the price is reasonable, we can enjoy the potential of DC system just same as other DC model. As I wrote before, on this i-DC＋ anglers can choose one from 3 modes. We set "N mode" when use nylon line, set "F mode" when use fluorocarbon line, set "PE mode" when use PE lines.
It is very simple to use this reel so surely this is the good as the first one of DC reel. But the program of braking in computer is a little bit harder that other models.
It means that, thanks to the strong brake the trouble of Back-Rush is fewer. but the average distance of casting becomes shorter than others.
Of course the distance is enough for usual use, but this reel may not fit for anglers who like casting very far.
◎ New ANTARES DC series of 2015???.
It has 2 or 3 years has passed after the rumor which New ANTARES DC would release, is spread in Japanese market. Older model was appeared in 2006 but has disappeared from catalogue and now only following model ANTRES DC7 LV has left for sales. Between previous model (ANTARES DC) and present model (ANTARES DC7 LV) the difference is only gear-ratio and the length of handle. The main design and mechanical system is the same. But even the system becomes a little bit old, the long distance record of SHIMANO's Bait-Casting reel is hold by this reel, 111.25m (2013 ANTRES is 99m).
In the beginning of this month I had a chance to a sales director of SHIMANO. I asked him whether new ANTARES DC will release in 2015 or not. He just answered maybe Yes, maybe No, though he drunk several cups of beer already.
We do not know when and how New ANTRES DC will released. But if this Flag-Ship model of SHIMANO is renewed, hopefully DC system will have PE Line mode.
And the long casting ability which is the most appeal point of this reel have to be advanced.
And another technology which will be added to new model is "X-SHIP" "MICRO MODULE GEAR", which is already mounted on 2012ANTARES HG and 2013 CALCUTTA CONQUEST.
"X-SHIP" re-design the balance of gears and contributes the retrieve easily even high-geared models.
"MICRO MODULE GEAR" makes gear-rotation smoother and stronger than before.
Many Japanese anglers are waiting the renewal of this symbol Japanese fishing reel.
Only we worry about this reel must be the price!
